“I think we’re just getting started”

Welcome to Green Thumbs Magazine! My name is VGjakeg and I started this project in April of this year as a TikTok account and now Green Thumbs Magazine is expanding to a website!

GTM is a project that is heavily inspired by the magazines and video game news I consumed growing up, specifically the recently shuttered Game Informer. Before I really knew or understood what games journalism was, I remember reading Game Informer the day it showed up to my childhood home every month. Candidly, I was a sucker for reading all the recent reviews and upcoming game previews, but over time started to grow an appreciation for the hard work and reporting the team at GI did.

So what is all this anyway? Green Thumbs Magazine currently exists as a TikTok page where I share articles and pieces in the video game world that I find interesting. Now, GTM is expanding to become a website where @imcro2, myself, and whoever comes along for the journey will write about and share even more interesting things in the video game world. Now that we have expanded let’s talk about what we will be posting to our new shiny site. To start we will be sharing a bi-weekly newsletter that recaps news stories and pieces that we found interesting over that period. These news pieces will also be shard to our social media pages during that time if newsletters aren’t your thing.

We will also be doing reviews using our 3-Star review scale which you can read more about HERE. These reviews will cover whatever game we are finding worth covering at that moment and want to talk more about what we did and didn’t like.

Last but not least, the heart of our posts will be about the wide world of video games and our thoughts on them. From retrospectives, to opinion pieces, or even some speculation. We will be writing about the things we find interesting and want to share our thoughts on when the time comes.

Every so often we will also share some of what we have been playing, watching, and listening to as a whole. Not everything needs to be the most thought out pieces of all time, but just a simple check in and update into what we are interacting with and enjoying. Maybe I’ll share a plant corner update or two.
